Once you have made the money player a few times and have a few dollars I recommend
you look for 1$ poker tournaments. You will notice the prize pools are lower
than many of the freeroll tournaments (especially the Bodog $1000 and $500).
They are better because you will have a much lower number of opponents. If
you are playing in the Bodog $1000 freeroll you have 5000 people to beat to get
1st. In a 150$ 1$ tournament you will have 150 people to face to earn the
top paying spot. However I do not recommend 1$ cash prize pool
tournaments.
Personally I like the Bodog 100k qualifier tournaments.
They cost 1$ and give you 24$ of tournament credits which can be used in any
tournament. If you have 5$ from freerolls you can try this tournament 5
times. If you place (you are in the top 1/24.. eg 1 in 24 gets paid) then
you get 24 more tries at the 24$ tournament or you can play in some other cash
tournaments. I am building up my tournament credits to enter into the
$100,000 weekly tournament. Even the lowest pay bracket is a few hundred
dollars there!
